Parks Canada runs several campgrounds in Jasper: a large full-service one next to town, one that's open all year and several rustic ones on the Icefields Parkway. Here's each one with its 2026 season and who it suits.
Next to town
Whistlers Campground is the classic: 781 sites, from unserviced to full hookups, with hot showers, a playground and Parks Canada interpreter programs in summer. A trail links it to town. 2026 season: May 6 to October 12, reservable, CAD 34 to 61.

Wapiti Campground, on the Athabasca River, is the one that's open all year. In summer (May 13 to October 28, 2026) it has 150 reservable sites; in winter, 40 sites with power open without reservations. It runs at reduced capacity because of the 2024 wildfire. CAD 29.50 to 53.75.
On the Icefields Parkway
- Honeymoon Lake: 34 primitive sites by a quiet lake near Sunwapta Falls, with an area for cyclists. May 27 to September 14, 2026, first come, first served.
- Wilcox: 46 primitive sites at the Wilcox Pass trailhead, near the Columbia Icefield. Cold nights; best for RVs under 27 feet. June 10 to September 28, 2026, first come, first served.
- Icefield Tent and Icefield Centre RV: 31 walk-in tent-only sites with glacier views, and 100 RV sites with no water or fires. First come, first served.

East side of the park
Miette Campground is on the Miette Road, on the way to Miette Hot Springs: 140 unserviced sites with water, fire pits and flush toilets, no showers. Best for tents and RVs under 27 feet. May 13 to September 14, 2026, reservable.
Which one to choose?
- First time or with kids: Whistlers, for the services and being close to town.
- In winter: Wapiti, the only one open all year.
- To see glaciers: Icefield Tent or Wilcox, and get up early for the Wilcox Pass trail.
- For peace and quiet: Honeymoon Lake.
- For Miette Hot Springs or the Sulphur Skyline: Miette.
