A flat walk on well-kept boardwalks and paths that starts downtown and follows Policeman's Creek through forest and past ponds. It's about 4.2 km out and back with almost no elevation gain, and it links to more than 70 km of walking trails, so you can make it as long as you like.
It's great for birding, with views of the Three Sisters and Mount Rundle; it can get busy at times. According to the Town of Canmore, the west entrance to the boardwalk has stairs and isn't wheelchair accessible, and there are no public washrooms on the trail.
Distance, elevation gain and time: unofficial figures (the Town of Canmore only publishes the short 1.24 km loop).
On foot from Main Street. For parking, the Town of Canmore suggests the Town Centre or near Elevation Place. There are no public washrooms on the trail.

Year-round. In spring and summer the marsh is full of birds.
Besides the birds, elk are common in Canmore: keep at least 30 m away.
