The trail
Trail 15 is the main gravel route from town up to the Pyramid Bench, a lake-dotted terrace above Jasper. It climbs steadily to Pyramid Lake: 5.2 km each way and 118 m of elevation gain.
You can walk it from downtown without a car, and it links to other bench loops such as the Overlook Loop, with Red Chairs looking over the Miette, Maligne and Athabasca valleys.
Getting there
Start at the Jasper Activity Centre parking lot, near the start of Pyramid Lake Road, a few minutes' walk from downtown.

Best time to go
Year-round. In winter Parks Canada lists it among its winter walks: a packed, mostly flat trail.
Wildlife
Bighorn sheep graze on the bench slopes. Cyclists and horses share the trail. Keep at least 30 m from elk, deer and bighorn sheep, and 100 m from bears, wolves, cougars and coyotes.
