The trail
A flat 3.5 km loop around Lac Beauvert, the green lake beside Jasper Park Lodge, a few minutes from town.
It's one of the easiest walks in Jasper and one Parks Canada also recommends in winter.
Getting there
From town, take Highway 16 east, turn right onto the Maligne Road and then onto Lodge Road to Jasper Park Lodge. The loop starts at the lodge.

Best time to go
Year-round. In winter it can be icy: bring light ice cleats.
Wildlife
Elk are common around town. Keep at least 30 m from elk, deer and bighorn sheep, and 100 m from bears, wolves, cougars and coyotes.
