A short interpretive trail (2 km return) with good views of the mountains and the Kananaskis River. There's an observation point over a beaver pond, and signs along the way explain the water cycle.
It's a good pick for kids and for a quiet hour outdoors.
The trail is in Bow Valley Provincial Park, east of Canmore via Highway 1X. The Alberta Parks Bow & Kananaskis Valleys trail map shows the trailhead.

Year-round: Alberta Parks lists it for summer and winter hiking.
Look for signs of beavers around the pond, and watch quietly from a distance. Keep 30 m from deer and elk and 100 m from bears, and keep dogs on a leash no longer than 2 m.
