About this place

Parque Forestal was created in the early 20th century on land reclaimed from the Mapocho River when it was channeled. It's a long strip of trees, paths and lawns running west from Plaza Baquedano.

It holds the German Fountain, a gift from the German community for Chile's Centennial, and the Palace of Fine Arts. In autumn its plane trees turn yellow, making it one of the city's prettiest walks.
