About this place
Founded in 1880, it is one of the oldest art museums in South America. Since 1910 it has occupied the Palace of Fine Arts, built for the Centennial and designed by Emilio Jéquier, with a great central hall under a glass dome.
It holds the country's most important collection of Chilean art plus temporary shows. It shares the building with the Museum of Contemporary Art, entered from the other side.
