About this place
The Central Market opened in 1872, under an iron structure made in England that still covers its main hall. It's the classic place to try Chilean fish and seafood: conger eel soup, crab chupe or a seafood stew.
The eateries ring the central courtyard, with fishmongers along the aisles. It's one block from Estación Mapocho.
