Estadio Nacional, in Ñuñoa, was declared a Historic Monument in 2003, mainly for its importance as a site of memory: during the military dictatorship it was used as a detention centre.

The protected spaces (the Av. Grecia Memorial, Hatch 8, the locker rooms, the Path of Memory, among others) are run by the Corporación Estadio Nacional Memoria Nacional Ex Prisioneros Políticos.

Visits: the Memory Tour runs on Saturdays at 10:00 am for the general public; Monday to Friday for schools and organisations. Sign up on the Corporación's website.
