Where
El Colorado sits next to Farellones, in the Andes above Lo Barnechea. According to the resort, in 1932 a group from Ski Club Chile reached the slopes of Cerro Colorado looking for new runs near Santiago, and one of central Chile's first ski areas was born there. Non-skiers can ride the scenic chairlift: CLP 22,000 for ages 13 to 64 and CLP 10,000 for ages 5 to 12.
Hours: Monday to Sunday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, weather permitting.
Season: the 2026 winter season was extended until October 12. The resort announces its 2027 opening date.
Day ticket prices (low / high season): adult (25 to 64) CLP 68,000 / 75,000; student (13 to 24) and senior (65+) CLP 52,000 / 59,000; kids 0 to 12 free. The Skipass card costs CLP 6,000. High season: weekends, public holidays and June 30 to July 17.
Getting there: drive up Route G-21 (the road to Farellones). In peak season the road has set hours: from June 19 to September 20, 2026, uphill only from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and downhill only from 3:00 to 8:00 pm. Carry tire chains: the police require them. Check the road status in "Today in Santiago" before you go.
