About this place
The birthplace of Canada's national parks. In 1883, three railway workers, Frank McCabe and brothers Tom and William McCardell, came upon these thermal springs, sparking the events that led to Canada's first national park. The site has held cultural importance for Indigenous communities for millennia.
It has interactive exhibits, short films, guided tours, seasonal activities, Rocky Mountain views and red chairs for photos. According to Parks Canada it is open May 15 to October 15, daily 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; youth get in free.
