Banff Avenue is the heart of the town of Banff: an avenue full of shops, cafés, restaurants and galleries, with Cascade Mountain closing the view to the north. That image, the avenue pointing at the mountain, is one of Banff's classic photos.

To the south, the avenue ends at the bridge over the Bow River, facing the Cascade Gardens and the park administration building.
